When you ask a girl out, its important that you keep your cool. That means, you don't get all nervous and jerky. Your heart rate doesn't go through the roof. You don't get all red in the face. Easier said than done you say? Well, that may be true, when you're a rookie, but after enough practice, it's not so hard.
The most important thing to know is that you can do it. Guys ask girls to go out and do things all the time. It's a common thing. So don't sweat it. Keep it casual. You're not asking her to marry you. You're just asking her to go out for [coffee/tea/walk/boating/party/movie/whatever]. Just say "Hey, I'm going to John's house this weekend for a little get together. You want to come with?" That's all you need to do. Don't make it all official sounding. That will make it awkward and put more pressure on you and on her.
